Bratislava and Slovakia in general are usually ignored by tourists. Bratislava (pop close to 500,000) is a very highly recommended city to visit. Britislava is very conveniently located right next to Vienna, Austria, and close to Brno, Czech Rep. Like elsewhere in Eastern Europe, you should stay near the Old town, if possible.
Slovaks, much like Czechs, enjoy their beer. Some good beer places are:
